Hey FlashFrame users, it’s been a buildup week for us over here prepping for the big Marathon in Chicago on Sunday. While we only had attendance at one major event this week we’re happy to boast a few articles in Chicago publications detailing our website and hopefully getting people interested in using our app and website for the marathon on October 9th.
Notre Dame Joe Piane Invitational
The rain held off in South Bend just long enough to fire the starting gun of all 5 races at the Joe Piane Invitational. It was a great day for racing with many teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation battling for vital team points to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, IN this November. Number 1 ranked Providence took the win on the women's side with only 16 seconds separating their top 5 athletes. Notre Dame's Anna Rohrer lead the women with a blazing 16:11 5k. Sean Tobin, the Clonmel, Ireland native running for Ole Miss, came away with the victory in the men's 8k at 23:31 as his team went on to take the overall victory as well. Rohrer and Tobin's victories also earned them honors as USTFCCCA XC Athletes of the week.
Nancy Kapheim Memorial Classic
With a variety of great pictures available from our talented photographer Tom Betts there should be plenty of material to put up on your fridge or overhaul your next profile picture if you happened to have found yourself running either the mile or 5k in Rock Island on Sunday.
Online Presence
FlashFrame was happy to be featured in two Chicago publications on Friday, DNAinfo and Built in Chicago. These two great stories will definitely help get the word out about FlashFrame leading up to the marathon in Chicago this weekend so make sure to tell your friends and spread the word. Interestingly enough we were also the topic of conversation among a few message boards, LetsRun.com and r/running on Reddit. These are definitely interesting message boards and are an interesting read for anyone that wants to learn more about FlashFrame and join the hype as we hit marathon season.
Make sure to get out there and take some pictures this weekend at the marathon if you're going to be in Chicago. There are a lot of runners attending and it should be a great place to get your work out and hopefully make some money. Have a great week!
